Melky

What do you think it would take for the dbacks to get Melky Cabrera. I may be wrong, but it seems as if the yankees are getting ready to trade him considering that they just called up Brett Gardner. Are the Yankees in need of a major league ready arm. Perhaps Yusmierio Petit? A former top prospect for the Mets who was a big piece in the Carlos Delgado deal and has never gotten a fair shot at starting at the big league level. Petit is still only 23 years old and has great breaking stuff. Perhaps Billy Buckner? He was the minor league pitcher of the year for the Royals last year and was traded to dbacks in the offseason. He, also, hasn't had a fair shot at starting at the bigs. He was called up briefly this year and showed great stuff. With a fastball that can get up to 95 and a dynamite curveball. He is also still young as he is only 24 years old. What do you guys think? Is a deal between the two teams possible? (Maybe you guys can take Randy back. lol.)

My take on the whole situation is that Melky is not going to be traded. The only reason Gardner got the call up is that Matsui and Damon are old, falling apart, and it seems like their days are numbered. I know they can still put up descent numbers but still when your sitting on the bench your not helping put a W on the board. If the Yankees trade Melky that means that a rookie goes in to play center field. We’ve seen Melky play in big game situations but not Gardner or Christians. Melky is in whats called a slump, we’ve seen other players such as, let me think…............. A-rod fall in the same situation. Everone was saying lets get rid of our no good-over payed third basemen. Melky has speed, power, and a good arm-glove. His numbers last year were good. If there are players to be trading they are Mike Mussina, Hideki Matsui, Gason Giambi, and Johnny Damon. All of witch are older then, lets say um 30. Trading young talent for pitchers is lets say stupid. Most of the older players I just talked about are in the final leg of their contracts. I see the Yankees going for talent in the off season. if the Yanks win the World Series this year it will be a act of faith and alot of praying. Not saying it can’t be done, just kind of seems far of. Look at the bright side, Carl Plavano could be back in August…...HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

yeah

trade Gason and wait for Plavano to come back. That will solve all the problems.

your right

and it should have worked in the Yankees minds 1 no, 2 no, 3 no, thats right 4 years ago. I’m glad that will free up roster and cap space for our next All Star calliber player.
