Prepare yourself for the return of Sir Sidney Ponson.
Per Chad Jennings, the Scranton rotation lists TBA on Thursday, which would have been Ponson’s spot. It seems pretty evident that Ponson will pitch one of those games against the Mets on Friday. Assuming he’s not arrested first.

His SWB start on June 21...
Well here’s his stats:
Date OPP W L ERA SV IP H ER BB SO
Jun 21 TOL 0 0 2.25 0 4.0 3 1 3 2
Not much to complain about here EXCEPT FOR HIS WHIP OF 1.500. If he throws up that kind of number consistently in the MLB he will soon be in the MiLB or worse… But 1 ER over four innings is pretty good.

I don't think we know yet
Karstens was better in his start and would be available.
And I think the Yankees like to keep their oponents guessing. That keeps us guessing too.

Karstens
I saw him pitch in Norfolk last Monday and he was very mediocre. He did pitch ahead to most batters, but he was far from sensational. I read his next start was dominant. Given the choice between Ponson, Karstens, Geise, it’s probably a toss-up.
I’ve heard the Yankees might be interested in acquiring Bronson Arroyo who is scheduled to have his salary nearly triple next season along with Aaron Harang. If the Yankees are thinking about trading for a pitcher, I would hope it wouldn’t be Bronson Arroyo. Harang, Blanton … yes. Not Arroyo.
