Wow
Was that really the Red’s logo at some point?

Um
cool. Yeah, not quite the word I would have chosen.

That logo reminds me of some 50s and 60s cartoons. Kinda like Tex Avery.

BTW....
There’s some kind of goofy bug messing with the front page fonts.

I haven't noticed
except when I use quotes, sometimes it throws everything off.
What’s going on?

My Feeling Today
We’re gonna rock Cueto for 7 runs, winning the game!

Giambi has darkened his 'stache
Maybe it helped him steal 2B.

It worked
But what is Joe thinking?

Either Joe thinks way too hard....
or not at all. I have to shake my head on many of his decisions.

Stark contrast between the Reds and Pads defense this week

And that play
seems to have cost Encarnacion.

Kay said that Girardi paid Cone a huge compliment
and said he would be an outstanding pitching coach if he wanted to be. He said that Cone knows how to teach pitching better than anyone he knows.
Cone’s response: “Well, how come he didn’t call me when he got the job?”

Right now...
my ideal trio for YES broadcasts would be Singleton, Cone, and Leiter.

Pettitte's pitch count already at 75
He needs a quick inning badly.

Some run support
would be just as good.

Abreu was out by 10 feet
Didn’t have a good jump and didn’t run hard to second.

An out
on a botched bunt and an out on a pickoff.
That’s a quick inning.

That's Cano's
second line drive without a hit. But the runners moved up.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it...
Melky sucks. It’s not going to happen but I want to see Gardner promoted to give him some competition.

I was thinking the same thing.
We see a few flashes but I think its time to admit he’s not an every day player. I wonder how much he & Cano miss Torre and his crew. They both seem a tad lost this year.

I've never been a fan of Melky
I’ve always thought he was a fourth outfielder who happens to play everyday. I favored trading him both last offseason and the previous offseason.

I wasn't sure
about trading him unless it was as an inclusion in the Santana trade. I’ve been hoping he would turn it up a notch but alas…time for Gardner to press him for time. Maybe he needs that motivation.

He needs the competition
Melky was put on alert in ST when Cashman said he has to earn his job to keep it. Melky followed that with an outstanding Spring.
Competition is good for the team anyways since they don’t have any speed on the bench.

Just finish the inning
Pettitte is probably coming out after this inning regardless of a delay or not.

Nice to see the Yanks went back into the clubhouse
and found their hitting shoes during the delay.

Michael Kay doesn't get it at all
He said earlier in the game that the Yankee fans don’t like Farnsworth because we’ve been spoiled because of Mo.
That’s it! Of course it has nothing to do with all the dingers, blown leads, and downright unreliability every time he takes the ball.
C’mon. And this guy is the face of the YES network.
by anaconda on Jun 22, 2008 4:46 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Yeah
Normally we’d cheer for a guy who walks people and give up homeruns at an epic rate, but this is clearly personal. What a dope.
At the pace he’s on this year, Farnsworth should pitch in the home run derby here on Monday night.
Don’t like to wish injury on anyone, but that was a well-aimed groundball by Brandon Phillips.

Indeed
An injury to Farnsworth for any length of time is addition by subtraction in my opinion.
by anaconda on Jun 22, 2008 4:55 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Farnsworth has given up 10 homers in 34 IP
That’s unbelievably bad. Only starters give up that many homers in a season.

Ridiculous
In other news, Papelbon just coughed up another one.
Tie game on TBS.
And Tampa lost.

Good for him
I think that’s like 4-5 blown saves for him. Maybe he should concentrate on keeping leads than impersonating Milli Vanilli during rain delays.
