Wang to miss at least 10 weeks

Devastating news from Yankees.com:

RHP Chien-Ming Wang was examined today at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia Medical Center by Yankees Team Physician, Dr. Stuart Hershon and Dr. Jason Greisberg, Foot and Ankle Specialist.

Imaging studies revealed a mid-foot sprain of the Lisfranc ligament of the right foot and a partial tear of the peroneal longus tendon of the right foot.

Wang will be on crutches and wear a protective boot for a minimum of six weeks.

i think it's time to think trade

now i am not suggesting they sell the farm for a guy like CC- i’m not sure he’s worth what someone would probably have to give up at this point- but there’s gotta be a number 3/ borderline number 2 guy out there that can be had a reasonable cost.

It’ll have to be Pettitte & Moose holding down the front of the rotation, with the hopes that Joba will continue to develop, and IPK and Hughes can come back and contribute. But the Yanks are gonna need another arm to get them to that point. And I don’t think Karsten’s the answer, and Rasner- as good as he has been- is starting to comeback down to earth.

Which begs the question.. who would you be willing to give up to get another quality arm in the rotation right now?

Not that Q104 is the premiere sports station, but I heard before that Wang is now out for the year. Any word on that?

Cashman said on the radio

that they won’t be looking for a trade – said there was no market for it (meaning, I presume, that he understand the Yankees would get fleeced if they tried to deal for someone right away.) Supposedly he mentioned Karstens and (ugh) Igawa. Anyway, this will be handled internally, for better or worse.

Sickening

I am sick about this injury. It is a pointless injury that may cost us the season. I just hope Cashman does not make a stupid trade. We need to get by until Hughes and or Kennedy returns and hope they can pitch effectively.

Interleague Play Sucks

Case and point as to why interleague play is stupid. From 1997 till now, I have never been a fan. Why have two separate leagues just for them to play against each other anyway! Get well soon Wang! We need you!

Amen

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

At some point,

the voodoo witch doctor who keeps hexing yankee starters needs to be put down like a rabid dog.

And soon.
