Padres fan visiting Yankee Stadium
I will be visiting Yankee Stadium on the 17th of this month to witness a little interleague action and check out the great Yankee Stadium in its last year. However, I was hoping some of the locals could give me some pointers about the area and the stadium. Is there a must try food item at Yankee Stadium? Is there a good bar to hang out pre/post gametime? Basically I'm just looking for any good pointers that are good to know for a first time visitor.
Thanks.

Go to the bowling alley across from the Stadium before the game. Across the street (directly across from the bleacher entrance) are a slew of bars and stores but go to the bowling alley one (what IS the name of it??? I’ve been going there for so long I don’t even KNOW.
On the way into the bowling alley bar there is a little hot dog cart….definitely get a Sabrett. They are almost the official food of NYC.
There is no must have food inside the stadium. I usually don’t eat much when I’m there. I go to the bowling alley before hand and have a Sabrett.

chicken fingers
The NY Times just did an article on the must-have food at all 30 ballparks, and recommended the chicken fingers and fries at Yankee Stadium. I’ve had them and they’re pretty good, but they’re $10 a pop (not that everything isn’t over-priced). You can’t get them at every concession stand, though. They have them at the food court on field level, and I got them at an upper-deck concession stand the last time I was at the Stadium, but you’ve got to look around.
