Has anyone watched ESPN today? (David Wells x3)

Has anyone watched ESPN today? They were reporting that David Wells had approached Hank about pitching for the Bombers for stint number 3. The report also said Hank approved but had yet to approach the rest of the brass about Wells. It also said he lost 25lbs which i thought was funny but i dont what to think about this. Good? Bad? What do you guys think? God knows we could use a little help in the rotation, i mean who couldn't, but David Wells? Is that the answer?

No

He’s definitely not the answer. He shouldn’t even be the question. Wells is old, still pretty fat and has type-2 diabetes (not that it should disqualify him outright, but it does add to the health issues.)

The man had his career. It’s time to retire.

When I saw x3

I thought you referring to his shirt size.

Big Fat Pass. If we’re going to start throwing Hail Mary passes this early in the season (which I think is silly) I would rather do it with someone like Freddy Garcia. To be honest, they’d both probably be ready to pitch at the same time and I have more faith in Garcia being effective after surgery then I do in Wells being effective ever again.

Remember the last time...

the Yankees signed a 45 year old former pinstriper?
It only returned the Yankees a 6-6 record last season from Roger Clemens.
Who needs the distractions that David Wells would bring?
Besides: Steven White, IPK, Marquez and Rasner all deserve long looks before Wells does.

Dead on

We can get equal results for a tenth of the price. It’s obviously not as media friendly as acquiring a veteran, but it’s equally (or more) effective.

Maybe he can teach Ian and Phil

how to shotgun a beer and pee in the shower!
