Consider this: Arizona’s Doug Davis had surgery to remove a cancerous thyroid gland on April 10 and came back to win a game on May 23. Carl Pavano has pitched in two games since June 27, 2005.
Two games in 35 months and counting. The other guy was out 42 days with cancer.

I think that people hate Pavano so much because you know he’s just chilling out sitting on a fat bank account with no hope of every playing again. He couldn’t care less.
It’s like he won the lottery because he did nothing to deserve his money.

really puts things in perspective.
i still say the igawa signing is worse. at least everybody and their mother wanted pavano. the igawa deal was a panic move from dice-K and the yankees were bidding against themselves.
