Girardi suspended
From Yankees.com:
NEW YORK -- Yankees manager Joe Girardi was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Thursday night's game against the Orioles.
Girardi will serve his suspension on Friday night against the Mariners.
Arguing a third strike call on Jason Giambi during the bottom of the ninth inning at Yankee Stadium on Thursday, Girardi threw down his hat and kicked it across the field, also kicking dirt on home plate umpire Chris Guccione. Though he was ejected from the game, Girardi noted at the time that he didn't expect to face additional discipline.
He said that he was "shocked" upon hearing of his suspension on Friday afternoon.
"There are a lot of things in this world that we don't necessarily like," Girardi said. "But you just live with them, and you have to move on."
Bench coach Rob Thompson will manage on Friday in place of Girardi.

He must have blacked out
in his rage. He said he didn’t remember doing anything that would warrant a suspension.

it's funny how
any time a yankee does anything – throw remotely close to an opposing batter, pitch a mild fit to an umpire – there seems to be a suspension.
i’m surprised joba didn’t get three games for his fist pump a couple weeks ago.

I wouldn't call that a mild fit
