The Nicest Thing I'll Say About the Red Sox This Season
I took a night off from following the games last night, and when I got up this morning I saw that Jon Lester had thrown a no-hitter at home against the Royals.
Battling back from cancer to win a World Series and to pitch yourself into history is an incredibly inspirational story.
Congratulations.

Nice story ...
I is a bit of a bitter pill to swallow when Papelbon, Bucholz, Lester all come out hot and our guys are still trying to find their way. I need a drink.

the thing I notice is that Lester is learning. He was frustrating when he came up; very inconsistent.
Now, Veritek has him working faster, thinking less. Better results.
Ironically, I have been impressed by Hughes this year, and surprised that the Yankee fans have been so impatient (even before the injury). Hughes is only 21. No reason that he won’t be very good. But he is only 21.
Lester is 24-25, with more big league experience.
Both guys have the temperment to be good.
Yank fans just have to relax and wait.

Well, Frank ...
unfortunately Yankees fans aren’t patient—sadly it’s just not in our pedigree. We have been spoiled at the king’s table for so long, that we simply cannot tolerate anything but immediate excellence. It is actually a sad place to reside, because we do have quality arms in Hughes, Kennedy, Rasner, Joba, but I don’t think we’ll wait for them to develop. I fear we will run them out of town before they become quality contributors.
By the way, my father in law was a huge fan of yours.
