A-Rod set to return Tuesday
From Pete Abe:
Alex Rodriguez remains on target to rejoin the New York Yankees on Tuesday.
The third baseman, out since April 28 with a strained right quadriceps, hit a grand slam to center field during his 15 at-bats in a simulated game Sunday. He is scheduled to play in an extended spring training game Monday against Philadelphia minor leaguers before returning to New York.
“It’s the best I’ve felt since the injury,” Rodriguez said.
A-Rod faced four different Yankees minor league pitchers, getting credit for five hits in his 15 at-bats. He also had a sacrifice fly and walked five times.
“It’s invaluable to get those at-bats,” Rodriguez said. “You can’t duplicate it anywhere else.”
My only concern with A-Rod is that he doesn't put too much pressure on himself upon his return because we've seen how much he struggles in recent years when the thinks too much.
Hopefully, the rest of the offense can finally relax and start hitting the way we all know they can.

Arod batted 20 times on Sunday. I’m convinced he’ll be fine. Frankly, though, Posada is more the issue. Sure, Molina is exceptional behind the plate, but he’s venturing into Giambi-land with his stick. We can’t have so much dead wood in the lineup. Last night we had: Cano, Giambi, Gonzalez, Molina—all at the Mendoza line or below.
As we all saw, that doesn’t translate into bunches-o-runs.
It also puts incredible stress on our pitching. Every time out the guys are thinking they have to toss a shutout to even give the team a chance to win. That translates into losses.
