It seems like the organization’s philosophy is more inclined to draft college players because they are more polished and closer to the major leagues. Of course, Hughes was the exception.
But I’m with you, I don’t really care who they draft as long as they snag the best available talent. I wouldn’t want them to draft a lefty just to draft a lefty and pass over someone else who would be a better fit.
