I'm not an especially emotional guy. I don't get weepy at any point in Field of Dreams, and I try not to get too worked up over the roller coaster of the season.
But this gets me teary-eyed.

Softball/women's sports
are an abomination. How dare you post that on a baseball website.
(That is very very very not serious for PAers who haven’t been around the website for a while)
Its a cute story, but did anyone read the long article in the New York Times about women in sports getting injured at at least 3 and possibly more times as much as men in the same sports.
They talked about the ACL specifically in that. Women or more flexible than men, which puts them at a much greater risk for that injury. Its not uncommon to find girls soccer teams or softball teams where 3 or 4 girls have that injury.
It was published May 11. I have to admit I only read the first 5 pages, but check it out.

I heard about this story a couple of weeks ago on the news. I didn’t get emotional, but it’s a good story.
The girl who tore her ACL is a real cutie, though.

Yeah, let’s reduce all that grit and determination to “she’s cute.”

Re:
It wasn’t her grit and determination that got her around the bases. She was carried by members of the other team. Ha ha.
Hey, I said it was a good story. i just didn’t get all sappy like Jscape did.
