CLEVELAND INDIANS

David Dellucci, LF
Asdrubal Cabrera, 2B
Travis Hafner, DH
Victor Martinez, C
Jhonny Peralta, SS
Ryan Garko, 1B
Casey Blake, 3B
Franklin Gutierrez, CF
Jason Michaels, RF
Aaron Laffey, LHP (0-0, -- )
PREGAME NOTES:
Including yesterday's 1-0 victory, the Yanks have scored just three runs or fewer in 12 of their 26 games (winning four of them) and are hitting just .237 on the season w/ RISP. Not good.
Pete Abe reports that Jorge Posada flew to Alabama today to meet with Dr. James Andrews but there is no word yet on the status of his ailing shoulder. Amazingly, today is the first time since Sept 1, 2006 that the team has played without Posada on the active roster.
New backup catcher Chris Stewart is with the team and available tonight if needed (let's hope not).
Aaron Laffey will make his 2008 season debut and his first career start against the Yanks.
Mike Mussina is a lifetime 11-9, 4.78 ERA in 25 starts, including a victory last August at the Jake in one of his best outings of the entire season (7.2 IP, 2 ER, 0 B, 6 K). Tribe career numbers vs. Moose can be viewed here.

A little offense wouldn't hurt either.
Especially against a raw rookie.

Did I hear correctly earlier
when one of them said that Melky had been on base every game but two this year?

Giambi and Matsui
Even a DP ties it. Giambi has 12 GS’s.

Actually if you look up the stats
He’s quite good at getting the run in from 3rd with less than 2 outs.

He also hits
a ton of DPs because he gets into “pull mode” where he rolls over on the outside pitches.

If we hold the lead, Moose gets the W
If he gets this one and 47 more he’s a lock for the HOF.
Golly, another infield hit.

Cano
figures he whacks the ball and gets out after all of that dribbling. Kid can’t buy a break.

Me too
He needs about 2 straight weeks of warm weather. Cold and damp don’t seem to agree with him. Unfortunately that’s all that will be waiting for him when they get back to NY. I don’t think it ever stopped raining today.

when only one ball (Abreu) leaves the infield.

Yes, that's what ESPN is reporting
Guess they’re dealing with a big case of buyer’s remorse, eh? 0-6 was not what they were planning on getting when they shelled out that huge contract.

No idea...
That Zito signing was so predictably horrible. And people think Cashman sucks.
Of course, I didn’t expect it to happen, but because Sabean is the GM, I thought that was the best chance of obtaining a guy like Lincecum when Matsui was rumored to go there.
No GM in their right mind would make such a stupid deal, but Sabean has a helluva track record in a bad way.

Abaladejo
Joe G. is a lot like Joe T. in that he seems to have a list of bullpen guys to use when the Yanks are losing, and a list of guys he uses when the Yanks are winning.
Johnny A. is crossing over to the “winning” list tonight out of desperation. As Coney just said this is a big appearance for him.

I think it was his weed smoking
and lying about it. Not smart.
The kid wasn’t a thug, he just did something stupid. My favorite game ever at Ann Arbor was a last-second TD catch from Henne-to-Manningham against Penn State in ‘05.
That turned out to be PSU’s only loss that season.
