Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

So I guess it was true...

I would have put my money on Bxgrl and other's feeling that the whole "Sox shirt in the New Stadium" thing was a huge hoax. Apparently it really happened.

It took about five hours, but the Red Sox jersey that was embedded in the concrete of the Yankees' new stadium to place a curse on the New York franchise has been unearthed with jackhammers, according to a published report.

...

The [Post] reported Sunday that two workers approached a construction manager with what they thought was the location of the jersey. After digging a two-foot by three-foot hole, the jersey was found.

And even Prince Hal chimed in:

"I hope his co-workers kick the [expletive] out of him," Yankees co-chairperson Hal Steinbrenner said.

That could be a pay-per-view event waiting to happen.

I don't know what to think about all this. In a way, I kind of wish it was treated as a hoax and forgotten about. To tear up concrete to retrieve a piece of cotton, shows concern on the part of the Yankees about curses and the like. Which until now, the Yanks and their fans have been able laugh and scoff at. The other part of me is glad that it was retrieved and won't be part of the new digs (pardon the expression). Curse or no, we don't need the New Stadium built on a foundation of Ortiz shirts.

I'd be happy

to build the new foundation on Ortiz.

yeah

he's doing a good job of burying himself... just add concrete.

I dont mind it

The way I look at it, the Yankees are saying: We're building a brand new place and don't want it sullied by some filthy red sox gear. The Red Sox are not even fit to be buried under Yankee Stadium.

I just

dont like it when people call others idiots because something like this upsets a fan. Listen if I take the time to watch the games, pay for the games, go to bars and drink during games, pay attention to the young guns in the minors, and write on blogs, I think it is my right as a fan to care about this. It pissed me off to find out it was a Sox jersey no less. If it were any other team it doesn't mean much, but its the team who broke their own "Curse" just 4 yrs ago. And if you can sit here and say before 04' that the Sox weren't cursed and that their teams just weren't good enough or the ball didn't bounce their way, than your the idiot. I live and die with many of my sports teams and this was something I didn't really appreciate. The jersey or criticism.

Leave it to a Boston fan...

...to think this would actually work.
