Moving Chamberlain in front of Rivera was not only the right move for 2008, but forever. Finding somebody to dominate the seventh and eighth innings is harder than discovering a fourth and fifth starter.

May I say stupid?
This guy is clueless. Most BP pitchers (MO for one) have only one/two pitches at best. For those that have three/four pitches to be sent to the BP is stupid. There are exceptions; innings count, injury waiting to happen etc. But stating pitchers with 3/4 good pitches? 27/08

No argument here
Mike and the Mad Dog seems to feel the same way. If they didn't have decent guests on that show from time to time, I would never watch it.

Disagree
Joba is special, no question. But with 3 and perhaps 4 plus pitches, he is being wasted in the pen. Finding a bridge guy to the 9th isn't brain surgery. In fact, I would take a young guy with great poise and decent stuff and stick him in the role. I wouldn't use some retread, or guy with no brains in his head (Farnsworth). I'd take a young closer at the AAA or AA level and mold him for the role. In fact, maybe take two. I'd rather start with a blank slate to fill that role. It makes sense.

Forever?
Using that logic, why not convert SP from every team into middle relief? After all, middle relievers are so much more difficult to find.
