Game #1: The Shelley Duncan Show
Yankees 9 Phillies 3
Duncan's Line: 2 hits (HR, Double), 5 RBI, 1 RS
Ensberg, as DH: 0/3
Methinks Shelley is going to make it difficult for Joe G. not to put him on the roster; Ensberg, bad day at the office.
Arod has his first homer, Abreu off to a better start this spring (2 hits, 2 Runs, 1 SB) Yanks outhit Philly (14 to 7).
Both Jeter and Abreu stole bases in the early innings; does this portend more aggressive base running this year? (I hope it does).
Woodward (2 hits) making a nice statement to make the team as the utility guy.
Pitching highlights:
CMW 2IP, 0 ER (ho hum)
Rasner 1 IP, 2 walks, 1 Run
Heath Phillips (yeah him) 1 IP, 2Ks
Albaladejo 1IP, 2Ks -- This is a guy I think becomes the sleeper reliever for the team
Highlights: Duncan shut the door on the Phillies with a 3-Run Homer in the First and 2-Run Double in the Third. How's that for "Put me in coach". Pitching looks really nice considering only Rasner gave up BBs in the game.
So it's only one game in spring training...but a solid game nonetheless.

I really like
I think both Duncan and Ensberg will start the season on the roster since Duncan can back up the corner outfield spots. Betemit's my pick for utility man.
