PrintThe eight-year, $160 million offer that Anaheim offered to Mark Teixeira during the Winter Meetings has been withdrawn.
If true, it gives Boston (and hopefully the Yankees) a lot more bargaining power.

Red Sox agree in principle to a deal with Teixeira
8 for $170, the minor details still need to be ironed out but consider the deal done.

The Providence Journal disagrees, even saying that DC has sweetened its deal to $178+ mil, and maybe even a 9th year.
