Hey Fellow Yankee Fans

Howzit going? Just thought I'd introduce myself.

As you can tell by my name, I'm a Steelers fan, a diehard one at that. You can take that and run with it but that's not gonna change. As you can also tell by my name I'm in high school.

But aside that, I am and always have been a big Yankee fan. I come from a family of Met fans, and if I'm not mistaken, I am the first real Yankee fan to come into my family (I converted my dad and two cousins), and no matter how hard they tried to brainwash me, I was always a Yankee fan.

So just a few little facts you should probably know:

-I have been to the HOF

- Derek Jeter and Joba Chamberlain are my two favorite players on the team right now.

- I dislike the Steinbrenner's... a lot; I am interested in seeing on how Hal does.

-I believe that Jesus Montero is the next great Yankee prospect.

-I have in fact been to four Yankee games, all home games and all have been wins.

-I had an extremely close encounter with both Roger Clemens and Derek Jeter on separate occasions.

My old man scored field-level tickets off silent auction back in '03 I think it was. Clemens was still on the team and not pitching that night, but he was present. As the Yankees warmed up, I noticed a small crowd gathering at the bottom of my section. I saw Clemens coming over to sign autographs and immediately ran down to get my own. I can remember a group of girls around me screaming "Roger, Roger" and me being too awestruck to say a word. The two girls standing next to me  both got their baseballs signed and I was the very next person in line. I was literally less than 3 feet from the guy. As he signed the girl's ball, I was getting real excited, but just as he finished, he turned, hugged and took a photo with a woman he knew, and walked back to the dugout. You can get the general feeling of what my reaction was. I was disappointed, and pretty pissed off that I had come so close but he had turned away. But hey, the Yankees won and I had some of the best tickets of my life.

As for the Jeter story, again my dad and I were leaving the parking garage after a Yankee win (say back in 2002?), and we were just following the line of traffic like everybody else, and then we get stopped by a cop and traffic both ways was held to a halt. All of a sudden you just hear this group of excited screams and a gold Mercedes pulls out of the stadium. As it passed by we got a look inside the car. At first it was hard to tell who was driving (night game) and as the car came to a brief pause, our headlights hit the front seats, and I spot the Captain himself in the driver's seat. My reaction was to scream "It's Derek Jeter, it's Derek Jeter!!!" My dad quickly attempted to calm me down, and tell me I was wrong, but as he also got a glimpse of the driver he proceeded to shout "IT IS!" So my old man said that our headlights shown into the car of one of the greatest Yankees of all time. After about a two second pause, Jeter saw there was no oncoming traffic and drove off, chased by a couple girls who managed to get past the police. You can bet that I'll remember that to my grave.

-Well, that's pretty much it, keeping my fingers crossed for C.C. to sign with us, and for the Steinbrenners to magically decide to take a life-long vacation and move to Canada. Well, no I actually want to see Hal do well or at least have a more level-head than his brother and his dad.

Dude, Jeter wasn't driving the gold Mercedes ...

C’mon, we all know he drives an Edge.

If I's known I was going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself. Casey
