BA Yankees top 10 prospects
|
Baseball America released their top 10 list, scouting reports are for insiders only, but the list is available for free. 1. Austin Jackson, of |
|
| 2. Jesus Montero, c |
|
| 3. Andrew Brackman, rhp |
|
| 4. Austin Romine, c |
|
| 5. Dellin Betances, rhp |
|
| 6. Zach McAllister, rhp |
|
| 7. Alfredo Aceves, rhp |
|
| 8. Phil Coke, lhp |
|
| 9. Mark Melancon, rhp |
|
|
10. Bradley Suttle, 3b
A couple of interesting points from the chat with John Manuel who created the list.
When asked if brackman could hit triple digits again, Manuel said his first pitch in Hawaii was 97, and he also said this later on,
He also had some nice stuff to say about some lesser guys in most fans minds
So it certainly seems we have some real hope, they also project the yankees 2012 rotation assuming no free agency (just based on current in organization talent) to be Joba, Wang, Brackman, Betances, Hughes. (in that order).

I would absolutely love that rotation.
5 ace-type pitchers? Are you kidding me?
I do however believe that we should sign Sabathia because I doubt Joba/Hughes will stay healthy. Then, ofcourse Betances and Brackman might not even make it to the show.
Sabathia
Joba
Wang
Brackman
Betances
Hughes
One of them won’t make it, but if we’re lucky enough that they all do then one of them will be in the pen.

I was also impressed with how much other teams scouts
think of Aceves, thats nice to hear, maybe he could be a pretty solid pitcher for us.

He forgot to mention Brackman's first start where the balls said
Aloha after hitting the bat:
Waikiki IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Brackman 2.1 7 7 6 2 3 0 23.14

One start, Andy Roth ...
Contrary to what you might think, greats like Gibson, Koufax, Seaver, and even your personal idol Guthrie have all experienced bad starts. … Perhaps after such an awful performance, you might want to jettison the young man to Pittsburgh, or KC?
You really need to check your negativity at the door. It’s like really cheap aftershave that arrives 5 minutes before you do. Seriously, if you keep this up, you’re going to unleash the PA hounds who will tear your butt up.

trade the bum!
you do understand of course that Sandy Koufax gave up 5 ER in .1 IP on May, 24, 1963, right? those stupid Dodgers shoulda traded him straight away!
did you know Brackman pitched 5 scoreless the next game? and has more Ks than IP? and is seeing his first pro ball? and is 6’10", so it might take him longer to hone his control?
