OffSeason Plan for Yankees

The Yankees had a disapointing year this year. Admit it, you thought they were going to win the division, expecially after trading for Damaso Marte and Xavier Nady. This offseason they need to trade for some pitching and a little hitting. They also would need to sign some big name free agents.

Sign some pitching, like A.J. Burnett. It is a long shot the Angels will not excercise the option they have on Lackey. If they don't, the Yankees should pounce on on Lackey and sign him to a 3 year deal. Also, they should sign Sabathia. This would make an unstopable pitching rotation of Sabathia, Wang, Lackey, Burnett, Mussina. If they cannot sign Lackey, they should trade for Peavy. Peavy might waive his no-trade clause, but if he does, he would easily have a 20 win season. The extra hitting they need could be found in Blalock, and Rich Aurila. The Yankees then would have the team to go for a long run in the A.L. East against the Rays, Red Sox, and Blue Jays.

Pitching

According form the news that is going on. The Yankees are going to try for CC Sabathia, A.J Burnett and also Derek Lowe. Andy want to come back, but they still don’t know about Mike. i would think that if they both came back and got two of these three pitchers that we will do pretty good. Itis going to be a really good season next year if they get some good starting pitchers and maybe a new first baseman because according to the news they are not going to ask Giambi to come back.

I guess we will have to wait and see!!

Jason Giambi

I thought they would try to get him back. Why should they release him, he produced, and sported a cool mustache

because

a. declining walk rate
b. couldn’t hit a good fastball
c. due to B. he was pretty bad in big situations.
d. bad glove
e. bad health.

he’s still worth something, espically as a DH, but that’s not exactly where the Yankees are lacking these days.

Free agents.

CC, Tex, and Manny? That’s ambitions. I don’t think you’ll be able to out-bid LAA, LAD, CHC, NYM, et al on all three of them.

I meant this is how I hope they look like..

Honestly, if we want to win now this is what you do. If you want to build up a dynasty sign no free agents.
