Torre playing for Wild Card?

Did Joe Torre decide to conduct tryout sessions for the 13th spot on his postseason staff? Are we trying for the Wild Card on purpose to avoid facing those Hell's Angels? Are we trying to get into the playoffs through the backdoor? Was Wang sabotaged in the process? These and many other questions fester in the air as we go down the wire. At botton is an interesting take by Bill Madden of NY Daily News.

Letterman should call ...
If I'm Shelley's agent, I'm on the horn to Letterman's staff booking him as a guest. This is beautiful.

From Schilling's 38 pitches.
"The yanks are something like 40-19 since the break so I don't expect anything less than a full out heavyweight brawl all the way to the end. They are clicking in every phase they need to, to win games, and we are playing well. This is the time of year when you laugh at the people that downplay April wins and overstate September ones. Without playing as well as we did early, and the Yanks struggling early, we don't have anywhere near the cushion we are enjoying right now." For once I hope this blowhard is right.

moronic posts and the Yankees post season chances
Baseball Gods usally just stay in the background. But too many bloggers are simply crude and stupid.
Profanity doesn't equal profundity. As for Torre and the Yankees...They are either tough and experienced or tough and learning, depending on your point of view. I like the makeup of this team and I think the season series with Boston clearly shows that it is able to compete quite well. Good starting and relief pitching, great though sometimes streaky hitters scoring a ton of runs. A-Rod, Jeter, Jorge, Cano, etc. are going to be hard to beat.

Good starting pitching?
Did you watch Andy or Wang's starts? Also, the relief pitching on Saturday was top notch stuff.

And Joba & Mo gave up runs last
night so they suck too.

Great point
Making a nonsensical statement about Joba and Mo is comparable to discussing Andy's struggles and Wang's utter bedshitting.

Nah, just loving the doom & gloom
from the resident douche bags after taking 2 of 3 from the Red Sox.

How are facts doom and gloom?
Do you contend that Andy and Wang pitched well?

Thanks for agreeing with at least
half of my "nonsensical" post.

It was nonsensical
in that neither Joba nor Mo or starters. Hence, your comment on their performance had little to no bearing on the "baseball god's" comments that we got good starting pitching this weekend. Then again, I have no idea why I should be surprised that your response has little if anything to do with the thread since that is your forte.

Sorry. I guess I should have been more
on point by saying something like your father is a pussy. My bad.

Relief..
..pitched fine last night.. Mariano didn't have great control but had some good stuff. Joba pitched great.

and...
...Wang pitched horribly the other day and it's worth getting at least somewhat worried about. I don't think he's been terribly consistent in a long time. Andy I'm less worried about.. i think he'll have a bad day every now and again. But, when Wang doesn't have his sinker working for him... it seems like its going to be a long night. Wang was lucky to be able to stay in the game as long as he did the other day. We were lucky to get out of more than a few jams.

Not that worried about Wang
He completely shit the bed on Saturday, but he does that every time he pitches in Fenway.

Everyone
talks about how cool and calm Wang is, but I think he gets amped up in those big games (understandibly) and he throws that sinker just a little bit harder and a little bit straighter.
