OK It looked intentional to me
In my previous diary I called for retaliation for the hit Dice-K laid on Arod.
Well Joba did not hit anyone. Rocket only hit the runt second baseman, and it didn't look like it was intentional.
Joba, however, did look like he threw warning pitches. He did it twice so there was no mistake in recognition. So, Youk was given a gentle message. Arod is our forth hitter. Youk was hitting forth. The right guy. It was a time when the message could go without much risk to the sweep.
So, Red Sox, you can no longer hit Yankees with impunity. Next time it may be worse.
I hope there is no suspension, but if there is we can handle it. Appeal and delay it till after Seattle. Then drop the appeal and serve it against weaker opponents. Be back for the trip to Boston.
Does it seem the Umps never protect the Yanks?
Geez, I like this kid.

We don't need distractions.
In fact, if Joba did it on his own, and was really trying to send a message, then he better get a message...make your points on the mound by getting the other guys out. Period. Down the road he could get into protecting our hitters and all the other stuff, but not with less than 15 innings under his belt.
Revenge? I really don't think that
Pretty weak
Here's the discussion.
I can't get too
Headhunting
Checked out your post
It did not look like those pitches were going
My favorite is still
Baseball Tonight
Youkilis was right that Joba has great stuff and great command. If he wanted to hit him, he would NOT have missed.
He had good command
If he meant to hit him, he'd have hit him the first time.
If he meant to scare him, he did.
Nice touch, wiping his hand.
Who cares?
Don't you understan?
Very True
Intentional or not, the head is the wrong area to mess around with.
