yes
the mlb trade rumor site said that despite the fact that he didn't perform last year they're interested.

Yes
The Yanks paid him for two years basically for the right to recover from TJ at their Tampa facilities.

Bad move by the Yankees
TJ surgery takes two years to fully recover. They should have resigned him cheap, and they'd be reaping the bennies right now. It would also allow us to dump Farnsworth's worthless ass.

Dotel left the Yanks
because KC was offering him the closer's job.

Anyone else would have done the same thing.

But we didn't try to keep him
I understand that, but given Dotel's pedigree, and the fragile state of our pen, I felt the Yankees should have made a stronger push to keep him. Actually, I would have approached him during the season and extended him--despite his bad numbers. We would have gotten him cheaper.

I suppose if he was set on closing which I didn't read, there is nothing we could have done.

dotel
i was reading might be too expensive (i.e. KC will ask too much)

loretta i like but the yanks could have signed him in offseason and wouldn't have had to give anyone. they decided on minky and phelps. oh well.

If Dotel
comes to the Yanks, he will say "I never wanted to leave, this is the place I always wanted to be"
