Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

All star game open thread

A place for everyone to commiserate over Joe Buck's Red Sox love fest, McCarver's brilliant insights, the idiocy of San Fran fans having orgasms over Barry Bonds' every movement, and the spectacle of the AAAA players going for their 10th straight loss to the major leaguers.

Star-divide

Highlights of the top of the first- a poor start for the Yanks, the captain GIDP and ARod robbed of a hit.  Ortiz managed to look bad when he should have been thrown out by 30 feet, only to reach when Fielder dropped a 20 mph heater from Utley.

Buck's Red Sox lovefest?
If anything, Buck bleeds Cardinal red as much as Vin Scully bleeds Dodger blue.

I don't think Buck is bad at all, but McCarver is a different story.

Buck
I based that on his comments during Ortiz's and ARods AB, which is when I was writing this.

Yankee fans are way too insecure
when it comes to national broadcasters complimenting BoSox players or a network (ESPN) giving them air-time.

So many Yankee fans truly believe that ESPN is anti-Yankees and in the tank for the BoSox -- which is ludicrous.

They fail to understand that the Yanks get more coverage on that network that any team in MLB.

A lot of Red Sox fans think ESPN is anti-Red Sox and and pro-Yankee network.

I think that
it just because it so black and white with the yanks. if you are not a fan, you hate them.  with the sox that doesn't seem to be the case as much.. there are plenty of those out there who are fans of other teams who are indifferent towards them.

Hmm...
Maybe someone with Tivo can transcribe the exact comments, but he said something about how Ortiz was the most clutch hitter, how he strikes fear into opposing pitchers, then talked about Manny as well, then when ARod was up the first thing he said was how his team is double digits behind the team of the previous batter- the only time he mentioned the standings for any teams so far.
Ok, now he's doing the ARod highlight reel, so that's better.

I hate
when that happens.
