Yanks vs Baltimore: Game 3-open thread

Mike Mussina vs. Adam Loewen

Baltimore Orioles Line-Up:

  • B. Roberts, 2B
  • M. Mora, 3B
  • N. Markakis, RF
  • M. Tejada, SS
  • A. Huff, 1B
  • J. Gibbons, LF
  • K. Millar, DH
  • C. Patterson, CF
  • P. Bako, C

    Yankees Line-Up:
  • M. Cabrera, CF
  • D. Jeter, SS
  • B. Abreu, RF
  • A. Rodriguez, 3B
  • J. Giambi, DH
  • H. Matsui, LF
  • J. Posada, C
  • R. Cano, 2B
  • J. Phelps, 1B

Looks like another cold night in the Bronx...So how many passed balls, errors and wild pitches tonight?

[Update by Jaime R] Just added the Orioles line-up. Out of all the pitchers, I think Mike Mussina is my biggest worry. The Yanks'll make it deep into the playoffs if he has another season like last year. Hopefully he plays like he has something to prove this year.

ERA?
Moose allowed two runs before there was an out.  Did anyone see what the gameday box score listed as his ERA, since it updates with every batter?  I want to see an infinity sign, or at least something like this.

Their pitching has been terrible so far
this season. I am starting to get nervous.

Yeah, way too shaky
If the Yankees even want to think about the playoffs, they have got to do better than what they're putting out right now.

by PsiFighter37 on Apr 6, 2007 8:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Why
is Melky leading off? Should be Cano until Damon gets back.

Melky's better
at getting on base than Cano. Cano is a slugger that should hit lower in the order.

by Willton on Apr 6, 2007 8:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Understood
But Cano is hot right now and Melky sucks. Thankfully Damon isn't as bad as initially thought

They better score a lot of runs this year.
I can see the dollar signs lighting up in Clemens eyes.

Yup
The "slug your way into the playoffs" strategy is back again this year. Too bad our pitching is terrible.

I guess
it was just bad luck it didn't happen.
Great Success!

Man, I hope
he doesn't come up with runners in scoring position the rest of the season.  It will really be bad luck then.  Hopefully, when that happens, you can get off the crack.
Great Success!

Another bases loaded, 1-out situation...
...and no one can deliver.

Lame.

by PsiFighter37 on Apr 6, 2007 8:27 PM EDT reply actions

Three starts
and 12.1 IP out of our starters. WTF?

nightmare
When Seo outpitches us, it's a problem...

People, it's the first week
We haven't gone through the rotation once yet and everybody's jumping on the doomsday wagon.  If it's like this in May or June, then we do have a problem.

The starting pitching is a serious concern
One silver lining was the performance by Sean Henn.  Henn is keeping the Yankees in this game (they're leaving too many runners on base).

Giambino
He's really shit the bed tonight, but where are the boos? The game is blacked out here but I am sure that A-Rod has been booed mercilessly.

That is pathetic.

Pathetic
is Carl Pavano leading the team in innings and still sporting an 8+ ERA.
