Is Andy after a multi year contract?
According to statements on the Yankees home page Andy is looking to pitch well beyond next year.
If he had just exercised his option he'd have gotten 1 more year, now he might be asking for 3-4 more years. Could that be the reason he opted out? If so how will the Yankees respond to a request for a 4 year contract? Carrying Andy for 1 year at $16m is one thing, $60/4 is something different...
I think it is great to have Andy back for 2 years, 3-4 is something different though?

Perpetual club options would be more like it.

Make him our version of Wakefield
So give Andy a $15 million mutual option for as long both parties want to stay together. He's not a Clemens.
I want him to stick around long enough to get the magic # of wins (probably 250) so that he gets into the Hall of Fame.

Eh
Andy needs 300 wins for HoF
He's at 201 now and is 35 years old... 15 wins a year for 5 years in generous and that leaves him 24 wins short...
He'd have a much better chance in NL but I think he is and always has been a Yankee at heart
He said
He wants to pitch in the new stadium.
Doubtful ...
If he does want to come back, though, I agree it has to be one year contracts.
he said if his wife said no
I know my wife
