A few MLB notes
Here's a few non-Yankee related transactions:
- Aaron Rowand appears headed to the Giants after agreeing to a 5-year/$60M deal. Gotta wonder if this will put an end to the Matsui trade talks.
- Long-time disgruntled Oriole, Miguel Tejada, is now headed to Houston after his former team traded him for five marginal prospects.
- Pending a physical, the Cubs have agreed to a 4-year/$48M deal with Japanese outfielder Kosuke Fukudome. Before he has even put on a big league uniform, Fukudome already owns the best nickname in MLB.

Yanks are not going to get Cain or Lincecum...
"With this move, we will no longer listen to any offers for Cain and Lincecum," Sabean said. "We know the value of both individuals believe me, maybe more so now that we've gone through this exercise. They might be the hottest two names in baseball."
He might not have made some of the best moves during his tenure with the Giants, but he's not a total f-ing moron, either. If either of those two go, he's going to be looking for a Cano type of young-potential filled player, not Matsui, who has produced in the past, but is aging fast and coming off a knee in injury. Don't get me wrong here, I love Hideki, one of my favorite Yankees, but his upside might be great now, as is Lincecum's, but in the long run, Tim FAR outweighs Hideki. Might still want to consider Lowry, Hennessey, and/or Sanchez/Correia, Correia being the one name that hasn't gotten much press.

I'd want more
It's true though, compared to Barry Bonds, Matsui's a gold-glover with a cannon for an arm.
Hooray for Us!
