MiLB Ranks Joba #5

Not a lot of new info here for Yankee fans.

112.1IP, 169K, a batting average against under .200.
Yep, he belongs at the top of the rotation.

Hughes wasn't ranked because he's no longer a rookie. But before the season he was considered dead even with Reds prospect Homer Bailey, the #9 player on the list.

Check out the entire top 50- it's a great way to get introduced to the minor leagues.  It's also a pretty good preview of the 2010 All-Star Ballot.

Wow...
Bruce must be an insane hitter if he's #1.

I was thinking that myself
I suppose the question for this entire exercise has been how do they balance projection vs performance?

They seem to have gone heavily in favor of performance- I don't think there's any way that a top right field prospect could be more valuable to a team over 5-10 years than a top pitching prospect.

Bruce
is supposedly the nasty.  Minor League POY has an impressive list of winners: Beckett, Delmon Young, Jeff Francis, Andruw Jones twice, Jeter, Mauer, etc.  While he may not be as valuable as a Joba, he's a stud for sure.  You could easily make the argument that he deserves that.
Phil Hughes will own you.
