Interview with YanksBlog

Patrick O'Keefe from YanksBlog asked me to answer some questions a few days ago regarding my background as an author/blogger for PA as well as the Yankees in general.

Feel free to tell me what you think about my responses.

Thank you to Patrick for his interest.

Good stuff
I agree with your outlook on the Yanks future and your love of Donny baseball.
Phil Hughes will own you.

Nice interview
But seriously, you have to get to the stadium. I am no stadium veteran myself, compared to most of these people here, but there is no comparison. You ABSOLUTELY have to get here next year. Get to a start by Joba, or Pettitte, or Hughes. See Mo live. A-Rod, Jeter, Girardi, etc. I know you have seen them in Chicago, and probably elsewhere, but nothing compares to the Stadium..... especially in its last year. Before the new stadium comes in, you have to atleast experience the old. See Monument park, even the Utz ads and the Subway race, the bleacher creatures. I've probably only been to about 15 games, but there is nothing that compares. Go there before its destroyed. You owe it to yourself.

I completely agree
with stillmonster. Last yr. in the most iconic stadium in sports. Anyone whose as avid a Yank fan as you has to make the pilgrimage. I still get chills thinking about the games Ive been too. Even the ones they lose are fun, sometimes lol. Hope you get to enjoy that this yr. I also agree with you on the young guns. Keep em. Who knows Hughes can be Cy worthy in 5 yrs. It be terrible to let him walk away. I dont care who get Santana. As long as the Sox dont snatch him let him go to the NL or Angels. Besides the man is a FA next yr. I have a strong feeling the Twins don't bite on any trades, keep him for a yr. and watch their best pitcher walk away. The longer they wait the more they lose.

Young Guns
I agree about the young guns. I really want to see what Hughes can do, especially after his performance in the post-season, I see good things for him. I can't analyze him like Ronster can, I'm only the average fan, but I can't wait to see his future.

Gotta go
Im a Yankee fan from Seattle.  Season ticket holder at Safeco field.  Its an awesome place to watch a game.  My wife and I went to Yankee Stadium last season and saw the Yanks play Tampa Bay.  It was an the best time I have ever had at a sporting event.  We had goosebumps walking thru monument park.  The games we go to at Safeco are so plain cpmpared to the Stadium.  The Yankee fan's are the best.  Im going to be sure to make it for acouple games this summer.  I'll wear my Pinstriped 23 Jersey.  Hope to see you there.

Being on the West Coast
will suck this year.  I hope I can get away to see the Stadium one last time.  Fuck it, of course I will.

I was going to save it
until after the New Year, but we'll need to start planning Pinstripe Alley Day #2.

We had a blast last year.

You must go
I tend to give away/sell my tickets and get to 1 or 2 games a year (Mets and Sux) but this year I'm going to be very selfish and go as much as I can no matter who is playing.

There is no crowd like a Yankee homecrowd.  When they're winning, the place is insane.  And if they're losing and you stay for them to pull it out in the 9th, it is SO SWEET because EVERYONE leaves in the 8th and you get to go sit in the $$$ seats and see the joy up close and personal (I was lucky enough to be there twice for that in the past 5 years).

The Mets/Sux games are fun because the crowd tends to be close to 50/50 though in the Sux games fights can and do break out.

The real fun is when they're playing a team that is pretty good but their hometown is too far away for them to be taking up half the crowd.

OR OR OR when they're losing and all of a sudden they come roaring back...the place is electric.

OR OR OR...I could go on and on...there are so many varieties to a good time at YS.  Even when they lose it's fun to go home on the subway and everyone chanting Lets Go Yankees anyway.  :)

YOU HAVE GOT TO GO!!!  It is the LAST YEAR!

When is this stupid winter going to be OVER??

Is it winter already?
I'm a bit confused, because I have to sleep with my window open to keep from suffocating in my apartment.

In NYC
You keep your windows open all winter and closed all summer.  Bizarre but true.
