Priceless

Season Tickets for the 61 game plan - $2440
George Washington Bridge - $5 a game
Parking - $14 a game
Tailgating - $40 a game
Parking in playoffs - $28 a game

Having the Yanks have their ass handed to them in the first round the last 3 years - priceless

There is the something money can't buy....for everything else, there is team pathetic.

Crapshoot
12 hits, 3 walks, 4 homers, and 4 runs.  Either the whole team is anti-clutch and should be replaced with gritty scrappy players who bat .210 but know how to put down a sacrafice bunt, OR there's too much luck involved to expect the better team to win a 5 game series.

Yeah
I think a big part of the problem is the short series.

Except for the series that shall not be named I don't they've ever lost an ALCS.

Over 7 games the Yankees offense could wear a pitching staff down, and expose more weaknesses.

You get one bad break in a five gamer and it could be adios to your season.

Exactly
Losing is heartbreaking, but methinks a wee bit of perspective is required here. Six pennants and four world championships in eight years has made alot of people very spoiled indeed. Bobby Cox has won all of one world championship in seventeen completed seasons with the Braves with mostly incredible pitching staffs, yet strangely they don't call for his head year after year. I guess the folks in Atlanta actually appreciate how foolish and sef-defeating it would be to throw a fine, beloved manager overboard on the basis of lack of success in short series. Perspective: it's a beautiful thing.

Actually
the folks in Atlanta don't pay much attention to baseball. In the middle of their pennant run they couldn't even sell out the playoff games: http://www.astrosdaily.com/history/1997NLDS/

Actually
I was thinking more about the front office than the fans.
