Happy Aaron 'Bleeping' Boone Day

Yep, it was four years ago today when Aaron Boone drove a stake into the hearts of Red Sox Nation with a solo homerun off Tim Wakefield in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS.

Good times.

Thanks
Anaconda.
Nice photo.
I like how Boone is looking towards the Yankee dugout out while Mirabelli, the ump and the crowd are still following the balls trajectory.

Back
from VA. I missed the last 2 games of the ALDS. But listened to them on ESPN radio. Depressing to see a season where eveything felt right end so wrong. Its even more fustrating to see Boston lump up CC and Carmona. Screw the Tribe and their timely hitting. However, barring the fact that we lose to many peices we will be here again next season, without all the MUST WIN bullshit that i feel hindered this team. I don't give a shit how much we spend. The postseason is packed with good teams. To make the Yankees have that win or be fired mentality is detremental to a team's mojo. Because they can't loosen up. As for this photo, I remember tearing up watching this. I gotta smile from ear to ear.

I was in my dorm room
Trying to teach my girlfriend why I'm so obsessed with this sport.  He hit that homerun and I leapt up from my (lofted) bed and smashed my head on the ceilling so hard that I saw stars.

Good times indeed.

I remember that night, too...
That was the night when I really became a Yankee fan. My dad, little brother, and I were watching the game in his room. That was the first game I watched the entire thing of. I remember, when Boone hit the homer, my dad and brother had briefly left to get a drink, and I was the only one to see it live in my house.

Thats
the best memory that I have of any yankee game I watched in my whole life. I was in my living room watching the game with my brother. My dad went to sleep since he had to go to work and he didn't like the Yankees....Lets just say he woke up kind of startled. And my 8th grade Boston red sox loving english teacher got the brunt of my jokes the next school day...

My one eyed English teacher
had that picture framed in his classroom the next day.

at the game with my father
Was at the game with my father and it was the last great Yankee memory I have with him, he passed away in August 05. I will never forget that night it was just magical. Just as good as the 2 games in 2001 WS @ the Bronx and the home titles in 96 and 99. The stadium just exploding!!!!!!!!!!!!

Memories...
My brother was there, I was watching it in a Harvard lecture hall on a projection screen.  I was sitting next to the one other Yankee fan and when Boone swung the bat we both jumped up and yelled at the ball, "Get out!" and everyone else sat there in silence.

I was in the Stadium for that game
Best. Experience.  Ever.

Thank you for reminding me of this fond memory.

I wish the red sox the best in their 2090 playoff campaign
