The Hall of Fame Votes Are In...
...and the winners are, Cal Ripken, Jr. and Tony Gwynn! That's not much of a suprise. They both were mentioned on more than 95% of all ballots.
I do believe, personally, that McGuire should be in. I also think that the Hall of Fame should have some sort of standard for this: They have to decide: should we let guys who "supposedly" (although we're sure he did) used steroids into the Hall of Fame.

There's no objectivity in the voting

Voters
The thing I least understand is why votes change (sometimes drastically) year to year and depending on who else is on the ballot- Shaughnessy says that next year Goose and Rice will make it because the rest of the ballot is weak, but there's no rule that you have to vote a certain number each year- why are they worthy next year if not this year? The whole thing has become about the writers' egos, that they're somehow the gatekeepers to baseball Nirvana. Heck, it gives them a freebie topic to write about for a couple weeks each winter.
