A-Rod continues

Quick Notes:

A-Rod cracked two HR's and drove in five to back another outstanding performance by a Yankee rookie pitcher. The Yanks might as well call up their whole minor league pitching roster at this rate. Rassner was excellent and made his 89 mph fast seem more like 95--as the Twins looked hapless against him in a 10-1 drubbing. They are 2-13 at the stadium since 2002.

However, A-Rod is the story again as he continues to look like The Mighty Hulk instead of Goofy in the batters box and is that a welcome sight. No disrespect to Goofy intended.

Another Story
is that Torre used Proctor for a full inning with a 7 run lead. It is obvious to anyone who follows the yankees that Proctor is better when rested and has been overused this year. He is on pace for over 100 innings, and him pitching a full inning with a huge lead is enexcusable, especially after the roster expansion.

I agree
He might make it through this year, but he will break down and become useless to the Yankees at some point next year. Just ask Quantrill, Karsay, Flash and Sturtze how that works out.

A-Rod
Not only is he heating up, but yesterday's homers showed me a lot. When he is driving the ball to right center like that, that is when he is at his best.

Did you see that bit analysing his swing...
on Baseball Analysts?  YES showed some side-angle shots of the home run, and he looks to have corrected a few of the problems presented in that analysis.

No, I missed it
But that is good to hear. Then again, the last time he was in a slump and proclaimed that he and Mattingly had straightened it out, he stayed cold for a few weeks. Hopefully it is different this time.

I think I saw it.
Was it the one with the two animations of A-Rod side by side with dimensions and analysis? If it was, I thought it was every good.

My bad
I was watching Agassi's final match so I missed a chunk of the game. There may not be crying in baseball but there sure was crying in tennis yesterday.

A little
too emotional if you ask me. But after 21 years I believe, it is hard not to be emotional. Great effort by him though. I thought he might have won that last set. Seemed to be getting his vigor back but I guess not. As my cousin said, "He might come back like Roger Clemens." I hope so but we'll have to see.

I wouldn't mind the bawling
If I was convinced he was actually retiring.
