Yankees move AAA affiliation to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

PrintThis had been rumored for a long time but today it became official. The Yankees new AAA team for at least the next two years is the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons.
The Lackawanna County Commissioners announced Thursday that the New York Yankees Triple-A farm team will play at the stadium next season.
On Monday, the Yankees ended their 28-year relationship with Columbus, Ohio, the previous site of their Triple-A team.
Commissioner Robert Cordaro met with Yankee officials Wednesday night in New York to finalize the agreement.
