Red Sox Suffering

Well, I can tell you from watching the A's beat the pitiful Red Sox tonight (4-0 so far) that Boston is about as sorry right now as I can ever remember seeing them.  Ortiz was out, Manny was sitting on the bench joking around (with negative medical tests), and many more either are hurt or just flat out suck.  I know the Yanks played a bit shitty on the West Coast, but theres nothing more satisfying than watching the Red Sox struggle more and more.

What a wonderful feeling.  I've noticed a lot less Red Sox hats and shirts being worn around...good riddence bandwagon jumpers!!! HAHA.

So, by 1:30am the Yanks should be up 7 games in the East.

Now, bring on the Tigers.

It is great
The Red Sox have removed all stress from the AL East race for September. Basically, the Yankees can just coast and prepare for the playoffs. Man, 2004 is starting to fade from our memories.

I agree, ReLaunch
We shouldn't go there after '04. You just never know. We have to hope our guys stay healthy (the ones who still are) and play solid baseball, and let the rest take care of itself. Mostly - and this is a big one - I DO NOT want to face the Angels in postseason.

Twins are the real threat
They are the best team in baseball right now.

Ortiz
really doesn't help his team as much as he could. If so, he could at least play 1st while Manny DH's with his knee problem.  But since he can't play anywhere except DH, he hurts them in that aspect

Blame Francona too
Torre got Shef to play third, Bernie to play right and bat leadoff, Giambi to DH.
The manager needs to do what's best for the whole team.
Have faith in the Yankees my son. Think of the great DiMaggio.

I also don't
feel bad for the Red Sox players being on the DL.  They will try to use that excuse, but none of them shed a tear when Matsui, Sheff, Cano were on the DL.  They had an opportunity at the deadline to make deals, they decided not to

I feel bad for Ortiz
I mean he's got a health issue, not an sports injury. This could affect his whole life. I hope he gets better.

But w/ manny their getting what they deserve. First the bought his B.S. at the all star game, and now that lie is coming back to haunt them. Also the redsox front office plays game with manny all the time. When things are going bad for them all of sudden there's a press leak of a negative story about manny.

I don't feel bad
8 1/2 games and 9 if the Yankees win tonight.  For once a September series that won't matter much.

My Sox friends are talking about hoping for 2nd place.

No more talk about 04 for at least another year.  And maybe no more MVP talk for Oriz either.

Is it Christmas already?
