Wow ... I can't believe my eyes ... it's not even the 5th inning, and the Yanks are up 13-1?!

Big Unit looks very good ... gave up the homer to Frank Thomas, but it was a good pitch ... fastball low and away. The Big Hurt put the big hurt on it.

So far, an impressive debut for the 2006 Yanks ...

could well be! when Hershiser made that comment, i thought "no way". but who knows.....

i didn't realize Hershiser was going to be doing color commentary this year -- when he did the WBC i thought that was a one-time deal. i like his commentary -- he knows his stuff.

The game was on ESPN2 here, and blacked out, so I watched on YES. Good old Bobby Murcer...

he was on ESPN2. he also made a comment about the Yankees possibly scoring 1000 runs this year, which is why i thought that was where your comment came from. i guess great minds just think alike, hey? :)

i wonder if Joe Morgan is looking in his rear view mirror now.......

The NYTimes

has made several mentions to 1000 this off-season. They had a very good article breaking it down player by player, I'll see if I can find it in the archives and I'll post it as a diary.
