Did Carl Pavano breathe on JD Drew?

Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus has some interesting info on JD Drew and an apparent shoulder injury:

Tony Massarotti of the Boston Herald got the story first, but I have more details on the specifics of the J.D. Drew physical. Drew took the physical shortly after the announcement of the deal in Orlando, but sources have told me that Drew showed problems in his shoulder that "could shut down his power." Drew had minor surgery on his shoulder after the 2005 season, so it's possible that there's more damage in there. It's important to note that in free agent acquisitions, a team often does not have the benefit of requesting medical records from his previous team prior to signing. Speculation centers on the damage to Drew's shoulder being more like Scott Rolen circa 2005. As Massarotti reports, it is more likely that the Red Sox get protection in the form of a very limited escape clause rather than scuttling the deal altogether. Somewhere, Bill Simmons just had someone kick him in the groin.

This is great
A pre-disappointment. I thought we would at least have to wait until the season to start making fun of this deal, but this is great. Hopefully Dice K has to make a visit to Dr. Andrews-san soon too.

an antidote to all the Dice K hype
This is a great heartwarming story.

JD Drew in boston could a be gift that keeps on giving throughout the years.

I can't wait to see his reaction to having the forgiving sox fans five feet away from him in right field.

JD Drew was in Pavano's Porsche
Unconfirmed sources have told me that the "woman" in Carl Pavano's Porsche was not a fashion model, but JD Drew in drag. Fearful of negative press in being linked to Pavano, Drew fled the scene in 6" stripper heels. According to at least one report the heel caught on a crack sending the oft injured outfielder to the ground on his shoulder.

There you have it. Carl is king! We need to keep him on the payroll. Who is his next target? Rumors are swirling that it could be D-Mat!
