Pussina
Is right. I do NOT understand how a guy can handcuff hitters for four innings and suddenly fall apart in the fifth? Yeah, the ESPN guys kept talking about how Moose has a tendency to do this, but it was so dramatic the way he just could not find the strike zone. I was amazed and appalled. As has been said already, this was a game we needed from him and he blew it.

But what really killed me was the lack of fight in this team tonight. No, they can't be expected to score 8 runs every game, but they looked defeated, bored, something. Cano's defense was an embarrassment and Sheffield refusal to ever charge/dive for/throw himself at a ball in right field is driving me nuts (we'll never see him in a Web Gems highlight).

Looking
Nothing like being down by three runs in the 8th inning and having A-Rod, Giambi, and Posada look at strike three. Did Posada even need to bring his bat with him? He should have put his gear on and put his glove on and stood there, that way he could have just squatted down after he looked at three straight pitches. ESPN could have skipped the commercial break. How bout a little sense of urgency!!!!

Well this could be the end...
We really could not afford another slide especially with Boston apparently on a roll--but the lame Yankees are back. The starting pitching definitely sucks and will not be getting better. The offense is fine, but cannot be expected to score 8 runs per game. Mel is going to have to explain why none of his pitchers have a clue as to where the strike zone is. Since so many other teams are in it they should see if they can unload some contracts, i.e. Posada, Giambi, Mussina,
