Open Thread: Game 57-Yanks vs Brewers
After yesterday's "Brown Out" it's off to play the Brew Crew. I remember the team they had in 82' I still can't understand how they lost to the Red Birds.
Anyway, another pitiful loss. Shefield should have caught that ball in the sixth and the inning would have been over. Brown seems to lose his cool over the time of day, and the Yanks can't consistantly get a clutch hit. Throw in Paul Quantrill for a little topping and you get a 9-3 final.
If Randy Johnson is going to pitch a good game now would be a nice time. I remember Clemens year and a half struggles in pinstripes before he settled down to pitch well. Is Randy going through the same symptoms?

Giambi Factor
I'm not trying to suggest that these guys are throwing games, but how motivated can they be knowing that Giambi can play like $h!t, refuse to go down to the minors, and still make $80 million? Maybe I'm reaching here but I don't think this team would be so doom-and-gloom if Jason "I can still play" Giambi and Kevin "No you can NOT trade me" Brown were gone.
Screw it. Mr. Torre should just sit everyone and play the bench. Phillips, Cano, Sanchez, Johnson and Flaherty infield and Ruben, Bubba and Womack outfield. Play Ball.
